1. to rise to the surface
瞬間、僕の体が宙に浮かび上がった。In an instant, my body rose into the air.
2. to come to the front; to emerge (e.g. from obscurity)
ある考えが頭の中に浮かび上がった。A thought emerged in my mind.
3. to stand out (e.g. against a dark background)
闇に目が慣れ、その塊が徐々に浮かび上がってくる。My eyes adjust to the darkness, and the mass gradually emerges.
